This month’s issue of La Gaceta de la RSME—the members’ journal of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society—features an article by Migel Ángel Herrero (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) under the title “Matemáticas para el planeta Tierra, ciencia para el bienestar humano” (“Mathematics for Planet Earth, Science for Human Well-being”). The article can be downloaded free of charge by clicking here.

The article and the cover images of the four issues of volume 16 of La Gaceta, with short explanations, are a contribution of the Real Sociedad Matemática Española to MPE2013. They can be found on the journal’s web page.
