Professor Christopher K.R.T. Jones — Recipient of the 2020 MPE Prize


Professor Chris Jones is the Bill Guthridge Distinguished Professor in Mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Director of the Mathematics and Climate Research Network (MCRN). The 2020 MPE Prize recognizes Professor Jones for his many significant contributions to climate science and the mathematics of planet Earth.

Competition to Design Museum-Quality Modules for MPE Exhibit

MPE Exhibit

Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013 (MPE 2013) invites you to enter a competition to design virtual or physical museum-quality modules for an exhibition on themes related to Mathematics of Planet Earth.

The winning modules will form the basis of a virtual exhibition that will be hosted through the IMAGINARY Project by the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach (MFO), an international research center based in the Black Forest of Germany. The inauguration of the exhibition will take place at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris, March 5-8, 2013.

The deadline for submissions is December 20, 2012. Details about the competition can be found here.
